Church partnerships

As an organisation that was originally founded as an Anglican Charity, the church continues to play a vital role in the communities in which we work and is often the primary, or indeed only, trusted organisation in many communities that have been marginalised.

Church partnership in eastern Africa and our association with the Anglican Church provides outstanding community reach and gives us vital access to facilities. In Kenya today, for example, over 85% of the population are Christian.

As a Christian charity organisation, Five Talents also has links to a number of UK dioceses, and we're always on the lookout to establish relationships with UK churches. If you'd like to discuss arranging a donation, holding an event, or having a member of our team come and visit your congregation, please do get in touch.

You can also check out our free church materials here or sign up to our bi-weekly prayer network email.

Our principles

Five Talents was originally founded by the Anglican church as a Christian charity, and we continue to work through church partners overseas, serving people of all faiths and none.

By supporting a Christian microfinance organisation, your mission committee and church can demonstrate:

  • A hand up, not just a handout.

  • Support for enterprise, not just aid.

  • Sustainable solutions, not just maintenance mode.

  • Support for women, who represent approximately 80% of members.

"I AM DELIGHTED TO BE INVOLVED WITH THE FIVE TALENTS MICROFINANCE INITIATIVE BECAUSE I HAVE EXPERIENCED FIRST HAND THE DIFFERENCE THESE SMALL LOANS MAKE TO INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES & WHOLE COMMUNITIES"

MARGARET SENTAMU,
COUNCIL OF REFERENCE, FIVE TALENTS

Get involved

You can get involved with Five Talents in all kinds of ways and we'd be delighted to share with you lots of fun and educational ways to help you raise funds to support our partners’ programmes.

In return for your support we'll provide you with films, stories and an opportunity to develop a relationship with a particular community. Contact us to find out more.

Join a Giving Group

If you have a heart for a particular project - we’d love you to join one of our Giving Groups. After a time-limited period of funding (typically five years) programmes become fully self-sustaining without financial support from Five Talents. Your church (and your friends, family, company, social club etc.) can join a Giving Group - pledging to give an annual donation to a programme until it becomes fully self-sustaining. When you pledge money to a programme we make sure you stay up to date on that programme’s progress through regular updates and, if you like, project visits. You'll have a personal connection with the programme through your Giving Group, and the incredible satisfaction of knowing you’ve helped a whole region (typically 2,500 families) move from start to sustainability. Contact us to learn more about Giving Groups - and read more about the impact you could have here.
