Dr Alan Gillespie CBE
Alan is currently Chair of the International Finance Facility of Immunisation (IFFIm), which has raised c.$2.3 Billion for the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI) programmes. Alan joined Goldman Sachs in 1986 in New York and became a Partner and Managing Director in London from 1990 to 1999 and went on to serve as Chair for the Ulster Bank Group from 2001 to 2008. Alan has also served in a number of public sector roles including Chief Executive Director of the Commonwealth Development Corporation (CDC); Chairman of the Northern Ireland Industrial Development Board' President of the Association of EU Development Finance Institutions and Chairman of the University Challenge Venture Capital Fund. Most recently, in 2009 he was appointed Chairman of the United Kingdom's Economic and Social Research Council.
